This month alone we have had the entire media center painted (walls and HVAC vents), the gym and cafeteria walls painted, and NEW equipment installed on the K-2 playground. The next major playground projects will be undertaken this summer and fall and plan to include work on both areas of campus. WCPSS also plans to have security and camera updates and a new ADA emergency exit/access to the mobile section of our campus (part of the most recent WCPSS Bond) installed over the next few months.
In the last three years alone Weatherstone Campus/Technology improvements include:
-the addition of over 40 SMARTBoards
-the removal of 2 trailers and 7 dump-trucks of concrete from the K-2 Play area replaced with grass and mulch
-new carpet throughout the entire campus
-new tile in all classrooms
-all 14 modular units gutted, repainted inside, with tile floors installed, new HVAC vents, ramps replaced/repaired
-new soccer goals
-new playground equipment
-cafeteria and gym HVAC vents painted
-trees installed on the 3-5 Playground
-Tire Learning Landscape installed on the 3-5 playground
-new gym floor to replace old carpet
-$100,000 worth of Internet access upgrades

This has all been made possible through a combination of WES, WES PTA and WCPSS funds. Stay tuned for more news and future plans.
Materials Needed for STEM Challenge
All classrooms will be participating in an End-of-the-Year STEM Challenge, Engineering Jump Ropes. Groups of students will attempt to create a jump rope that fits certain criteria using only duct tape and plastic bags. Please send in donations of plastic shopping bags and duct tape to your child's teacher. Be sure to check our Twitter feed for pictures!

Field Day, May 29th - Volunteers Needed!
Field Day is a great way to celebrate the end of the school year. It is a time when students can let loose and have fun with all their friends. The day traditionally consists of a variety of games and competitions that everyone can enjoy.
Please join us for this fun event and volunteer! We will need parent volunteers to help out between 9:00AM - 3:00PM! Hard copy sign up forms were sent out in Tuesday folders. You can also sign up online at: http://www.signupgenius.com/go/30e0a4dabad283-field3
Thank you in advance. We could not have this fun event without your help.
Field Day Reminders
1. Please provide your child with a water bottle, sunscreen, and a change of clothes. Students will be outside for an extended period of time (2.5 hours), and although some events are water events, the end of May is typically hot.
2. We are asking parents to donate popsicles. Each class needs approximately 30 popsicles. Donations can be dropped off Wednesday (5/27) or Thursday (5/28) morning and can be brought to Coach Mulford or your child’s teacher.
3. If you have signed up to volunteer, please check in at the registration table about 15 minutes before your designated time. The registration table will be located near the front office. You will receive instructions for your assigned stations at the registration table.
If you have any questions about Field Day, please contact Coach Mulford at firstname.lastname@example.org
