News from the WES PTA
T-shirt for staff members!
The PTA has had spirit wear sales over the last few weeks, and parents have been purchasing t-shirts for staff members along the way! We’d love to make sure that all of our staff has a bright red WES shirt as a sign of our support to their dedication to all of our kids, so please consider donating a shirt. Our sign up genius is here: http://www.signupgenius.com/go/30e0948a9a82d6-tshirts . If you don’t see a staff member that you are looking for, it means that someone has already donated a shirt to them. Thank you in advance for your generosity!!!!

September Volunteer Spotlight – Gurmit Rai
Gurmit has been volunteering at WES for the past 4 years! Gurmit has 2 children at WES. Kirpal Schlosser is in 3rd grade and Harmon Schosser is in 1st grade. Initially, Gurmit started volunteering in the media center and in her children’s classrooms. Last year, Gurmit was the VP of Fundraising. While holding this position, Gurmit helped with fundraisers such as book fair, grocery rewards, flyers, and Box Tops. Gurmit’s favorite task to date was organizing the Jelly Beans Skate night which was such a fun evening for WES students and families!
Gurmit says, “I volunteer so I can be involved with my kids and support their school community. I love to see the efforts of the PTA manifest around the school in the form of campus improvements, clubs, the STEM Expo, book fair, cultural arts and more. By supporting the PTA and volunteering whatever time I can, I feel that I contributed to those things that make the school such a special place for all the kids.”
Thank you, Gurmit, for all your hard work and dedication at WES!
