End of Grade Test Reminders
Parents of 3rd-5th graders please remember that we have End of Grade testing on Wednesday and Thursday this week. It is extremely important for students to be on-time for school and to have a good night’s rest prior to these two days. The school will offer free breakfast for any interested 3rd-5th grader these two days. If your child is sick, please keep him or her home to rest that day, and we will administer a make-up exam on another day.
More information on the EOG tests can be found at: http://www.dpi.state.nc.us/accountability/testing/eog/
Volunteer Proctors Needed
WES is in need of up to 10 volunteer proctors/bathroom monitors for the Math EOG testing next week. Proctors assist with maintaining test security and help to monitor student needs such as bathroom breaks during the EOG testing. There are only two requirements for a volunteer proctor. You must be able to attend a required training on Monday, May 18th from 8:45-9:45am and you must be an already cleared WCPSS volunteer.
On the date of the actual test, Thursday, May 21st you will be needed from 9:30-12:30.
We appreciate your support for our students and staff.

News from the WES PTA
Volunteers Needed
Would you like to make a big difference to Weatherstone Elementary next year? Please consider volunteering your time to one of our leadership positions. All descriptions are posted on our website at the bottom of our website: http://www.weatherstonepta.com The Secretary position is required in order for us to remain a PTA, so that spot is considered urgent. Our election will be held just before the Night of the Arts on Thursday, May 28th, at 6:00 pm.
Boosterthon Update
Weatherstone Family,
The final numbers are in! We are thrilled to announce that we exceed our goal and raised $31,703 for Boosterthon 2015. We had 63% students pledge and a 90% collection return. THANK YOU to the generous donors who made our 9-day character-building and fun run fitness event a resounding success! We were overwhelmed by the generosity to support our students and the programs that make Weatherstone a stand-out elementary school. Every gift, no matter the size, made a difference.
Dollars raised by Boosterthon were designated to support playground and campus improvements, and the general PTA budget. Did you know that the PTA budget (not Wake County) that funds ALL cultural arts assemblies, many before/after school clubs, parent/kindergarten and teacher socials, spirit wear, additional curriculum support for all teachers, Reflections art program, and many other areas that enhance the students' experiences at Weatherstone.
None of our success would have been possible without the parents, faculty, staff, and friends who support our students. The PTA makes many great things possible at WES, but we are in jeopardy of that continuing. If you have time to make an impact, please consider investing in the students of WES and giving your time to serve as a committee chair, co-chair or member. To do so, please see the positions available at www.weatherstonepta.com
Thank you again!

Weatherstone Elementary Inaugural Book Swap
Hello Weatherstone families. We are collecting books for our first Weatherstone Book Swap! Please bring a gently used book that you would like to swap to your classroom now through Friday, May 29th.
The Book Swap will take place in the cafeteria during school hours on Thursday, June 4th. Every student that donates a book in our book swap will receive a “new” gently used book for each book they donate. You will be able to swap up to ten (10).
We are also accepting any gently used books for our Weatherstone media center or classroom libraries. If you have age appropriate books that you would like to just donate to the school, please send those in too!
Complete the information below and bring this form to your teacher along with your gently used book donation.
