Talent Show
We had an amazing night on Friday at the annual talent show. Student acts were well performed and the teachers and staff had fun too! Take a look at the two videos below and Twitter account made by staff. Thank you to all of the parent volunteers and Ms. Combs and Ms. Whalen for organizing this event!

News from the WES PTA
Boosterthon Update
Thank you so much for your participation in this year’s Boosterthon Fun Run! As of right now we have collected over 50% of what was pledged. That is great! But there is still thousands of dollars in outstanding pledges.
Please help us reach our goal of collecting 100%.The second DUE DATE for pledges is Tuesday, May 12th. Checks can be written to Weatherstone PTA and can be turned in to your student’s teacher or in the front office. Credit card payments are also accepted through www.funrun.com.
Thank you again for your support of the Boosterthon Fun Run at Weatherstone!
Urgent Need for Weatherstone PTA leaders!
Volunteers have a lot of heart, but not always a lot of time! Please consider helping out as an officer or chair for next year, because the volunteer work that benefits the staff and students is much lighter with many hands and big hearts helping out. For a list of open officer and chair positions, please see the PTA’s website towards the bottom of the main page. http://www.weatherstonepta.com.
Lost & Found
The school’s lost and found cabinets are stuffed with items! We will be displaying everything on tables at the main entrance this week. Please have your child look for any of their items. Anything leftover by the end of the week will be donated to charity.
May Volunteer Spotlight – Shelley Shalhoub
Shelley has been at WES for 2 years. Shelley has a son, Nicholas (in Mrs. Cahill’s 1st Grade Class), and a 3 year old daughter named Natalie. Shelley has volunteered in the classroom for book and bites, learning experiences, chaperoning field trips, and as co room parent for the past 2 years. She has also volunteered at the book fair and last year’s field day.
Shelley has become even more involved at WES this year by working in the school store (which she loves!) and she is on the PTA Audit Committee. Shelley says, “It's important to volunteer because your child really, really loves that you are a part of their school…especially when they see you during the school day or helping at school events. Volunteering enables you to have a presence at the school and support the teachers and staff who do such a phenomenal job at Weatherstone! What better way can you show your support than to volunteer?!”
Thank you for all your hard work and dedication at WES, Shelley!
Weatherstone Elementary Inaugural Book Swap
Hello Weatherstone families. We are collecting books for our first Weatherstone Book Swap! Please bring a gently used book that you would like to swap to your classroom now through Friday, May 29th.
The Book Swap will take place in the cafeteria during school hours on Thursday, June 4th. Every student that donates a book in our book swap will receive a “new” gently used book for each book they donate. You will be able to swap up to ten (10).
We are also accepting any gently used books for our Weatherstone media center or classroom libraries. If you have age appropriate books that you would like to just donate to the school, please send those in too!
Complete the information below and bring this form to your teacher along with your gently used book donation.
Thanks for your support!
